For many years, since 2002 I was involved with management of NALA – Partners for Entrepreneurship to support potential and existing South African women entrepreneurs with business planning and start – up, as well as with education and career development.

With Julia Willand, IMCOSA – Immigration Consulting. Julia was a co-founder and trustee of Nala – Partners for Entrepreneurship; together with her sports partner Leigh Ann Naido Julia participated as the first ever African women team in beach volleyball at the Olympic Games in Athens, 2004; since then Julia founded and now leads a growing consulting business as entrepreneur and together with Leigh-Ann started several dialogue groups and a growing dialogue Facebook Forum.

With Hazel Jacobs – co-founder and Trustee of Nala – Partners for Entrepreneurship. As financial Management consultant, Hazel wrote numerous business plans for Nala start-up proteges; most poignantly, she developed a sophisticated business and financial plan for Rubisadt Foundation in Cameroon, lead by Dr Florence Tobo Lobe, which is still in use today. Hazel is a co-manager of the famous Cape Town Jazz Festival.

With Mathokoza Nhlapo, Founder and CEO of sithabe African Crafts; her elegant and sophisticated arts products are based on the century old tradition of Ndebele bead works; sithabe’s arts products are sold globally across all continents and feature prominently in corporate offices and elegant homes.

Empowerment through Education

Projects include youth group mentoring; workshops on diversity team building; supporting young women to reach graduate university degrees. Interns, volunteers and work-study participants and donors kept us going.
